Will the FDA Allow an Extension of Their Comment Period for Their Proposed Regulations on Ecigs?
The FDA released their 241-page proposal on May 8th and are expecting consumers to analyze it and respond to it within 75 days. The FDA has also posed nearly 100 requests for information about THR products.
Given the length of time FDA has taken to release the proposed regulations, the massive amount of information FDA is requesting, the length of the document itself, and the devastating impact these regulations will have on a product that is estimated to be approximately 99% less hazardous than combustibles, the 75-day comment period is grossly inadequate.
CASAA has requested in their first Call to Action for consumers to request a 105-day extension of the comment period, requesting a total of 180 days to make comments.
The question is will the FDA allow an extension? We, at Bloog, feel that they will if enough consumers request it. Thus, Bloog Electronic Cigarettes encourages all of its consumers to help make a difference and send a respectful comment to the FDA today requesting the extension. In the link below, CASAA has prepared a suggested letter that you can edit to accurately reflect your views and circumstances along with instructions on how to file the comment.
